Situated at the southwestern corner of Grey County, Neustadt is 20 minutes from Beaver Valley, where you can experience and hike part of the Bruce Trail, which runs from Queenston in Southern Ontario, north to Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula.
The Bruce Trail is part of the ecological jewel and natural wonder known as The Niagara Escarpment. Designated by the United Nations (UNESCO) as a World Biosphere Reserve, the escarpment is part of the bedrock of southern Ontario and forms the spine of the Bruce Peninsula, Manitoulin Island, and other islands in northern Lake Ontario.
The towns of Walkerton, Mildmay, Durham, Mount Forest, Flesherton, and Markdale are 20 minutes away. An easy, 1-hour drive brings you to Southampton, Port Elgin, and Kincardine (on Lake Huron); Owen Sound, Meaford, Thornbury, and Collingwood (on Georgian Bay); Creemore, Authur, Drayton, Wingham, and Elmira. Within 1.5 hours, you can be exploring Goderich, Bayfield, and Grand Bend (on Lake Huron); Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Fergus, St. Jacobs, Shelburne, Sauble Beach, Wasaga Beach, Barrie, and Stratford. Tobermory Harbor on the northern tip of Bruce Peninsula is 2 hours away.
